Round Palagruza Cannonball Regatta 2012: Press release No. 1 of April 6th, 2012 5th Round Palagruza Cannonball: Easter, as tough as tough comes. Among the roughly three or four dozen charter boat regattas drawing mostly Austrian and German sailors to the Croatian Coast every year, the Round Palagruza Cannonball stands out as the season´s toughest and most exciting event. On Easter Monday, the fifth edition of the race starts in Biograd.

On September 1st 2012 in Biograd, Croatia the second international JCI Regatta charity event will take place to raise funds for the fight against malaria.
All the revenues raised by the fanatic sailors from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, Hungary and Turkey will go to JCI Nothing But Nets. The JCI Regatta will take place from September 1-5 2012, around the beautiful Kornati islands near Biograd. The fleet will consist of 10 boats, each having maximum 8 crew members. One of the sailors JCI World President Mr. Bertolt Daems, is actively joining us in this event. Bertolt puts his passion into action in anything he does, also in the fight against malaria. Malaria is the leading killer of children in Africa. This deadly disease can easily be prevented with the use of insecticide-treated nets. Through projects like the JCI Regatta, JCI (Junior Chamber International) members in partnership with the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets, work to purchase and distribute mosquito nets and educate families in Africa.
