A new boat in Adriatic Challenge fleet - CRUISER 37

One more Giebelstadt shipyard wonder – a 3 cabin BAVARIA CRUISER 37 is joining Adriatic Challenge fleet in 2015. With space more akin to that of a 40-foot yacht! Sporty but safe sailing performance – this is the description of the CRUISER 37's features. She is an extremely fast cruising yacht with exceptionally large space below deck.

Space gained

The spacious salon has a new storage concept for optimal organisation of life on board with multiple crew members. The new panorama windows allow plenty of light into the interior and together with the new coach roof windows help create a sense of greater spaciousness. The below deck space of the CRUISER 37 is substantial. The galley has a double sink and large work surfaces for preparing food and the crew can easily have friends over to dine with them at the large saloon table. In the 3-cabin version there is a small but flexible navigation area at the foot of the starboard bench in the saloon.
Thanks to its improved cabin design, the CRUISER 37 provides additional space in the forward cabin for a wider double bed and increased standing height in the aft cabin. Moreover, the whole interior has been adapted to fit the new design concept.

On deck

Highlights include additional coach roof windows, large panorama windows, a new deck design and the largest bathing platform on the market. The generous cockpit area with cockpit table has seating for all crew members and still allows plenty of freedom of movement for manoeuvres. In addition, the new twin wheel steering enables easy access to the bathing platform, whilst still providing all-round visibility for the skipper.
Additional highlights include the new wedge-shaped cockpit table with greater legroom and the optional drinks holders and detachable lamp.

Sailing performance

The BAVARIA developed an extremely powerful sail plan and an optimal arrangement of all fittings and trimming options for the CRUISER 37. The genoa tracks for the sheet block positions of the headsail are mounted far inside on the structure on a CRUISER 37 in order to ensure the best possible angle to the wind.

Hull strength

There are significant forces acting on the hull of a sailing yacht – and these have to be captured and redirected. In collaboration with specialists from Farr Yacht Design, BAVARIA's design and production team work out an individual load profile for every yacht, from which they later derive laminate plans and reinforcements. The focus is on a stable bulkhead, which also manages the forces acting on a CRUISER 37. Precisely fitted into the hull to the nearest millimetre, it is securely glued to the hull across a large area. Particularly strong keel bolts ensure a force-fit to the keel – twice as many as is usual in yacht construction.
